Mars Community

Enjoying life together, while doing good for others. It’s an expression of our values and the source of great satisfaction as we laugh, encourage and strengthen each other -- all with the goal of advancing the best life can offer -- building our community through the strength of a proven organization: Kiwanis. (Picture Above) We joined with the Rotary and Lions Clubs of Le Mars to pack boxes of food for the THEN FEED JUST ONE. The goal was one full pallet of food (14,256 meals) and the goal was reached in 1 hour and 20 minutes. We undertake several activities as a local club. The proceeds from these projects are used to achieve the support goals we have adopted. Activity • The donut shop during the Plymouth County Fair. Begun in 1977, this activity has generated thousands of dollars for our projects. • The Kiwanis and Aktion Club help stuff plastic Easter Eggs each year for the Le Mars Easter Egg Hunt. Project Support • “The Possibility Project” started in 2022. The goal is to raise US $25 million dollars in 5 years. This will affect the lives of 10 million kids. It is the fundraising campaign that solely supports Kiwanis Clubs and the children we serve. The main focus is Health & Nutrition, Education & Literacy and Youth Leadership Development.

Joint venture with

Aktion Club

The Kiwanis and Aktion Club Members had a great time on Wednesday, Dec. 4th, making popcorn balls at the American Legion Hall in Le Mars. We made approximately 1,500 popcorn balls in approximately 2 hrs. We had a really good turnout and joining us in making the balls were Pride Group Staff, Kiwanis Spouses and Friends. They were handed out at Pioneer Village Christmas Wonderland on Saturday & Sunday nights, December 7 and 8 and December 14 and 15 from 5- 8 p.m. A big THANK YOU to the American Legion for letting us use their hall. Also, a big THANK YOU to Fareway for letting us use their saran wrap machine.
